Gran Teatro Liceo

The renowned Gran Teatre Liceu was built in 1847. Considered by many to be one of the best opera houses in Europe, tragically burned down in 1994. The auditorium and stage were destroyed.

The new Liceu was inaugurated in 2000, keeping the original facade and improving facilities. In this theater, the best operas are represented internationally by the great opera singing stars, as well as the Catalans Montserrat Caballé, José Carreras and Jaume Aragall.
